George Michael. I have been
meaning to paint this guy for as long as I can remember and at last was
able to paint this watercolour. George has one of the most incredible
voices. I remember years ago, on a chat show over here we had at
the time called Wogan, the interviewer was talking to George and asking
the usual questions.
"I don't know
why everyone wants to know my sexuality," he said seeming bored.
"I mean, it's not like they've got a chance of sleeping with me."
Well that told me and the rest of the world, and suddenly it didn't seem important anymore...
I couldn't even sleep with the guy in me dreams, as I found out. One night, ooh, way back in the 80's, I was fast asleep and dreamt that the phone rang. I answered the phone to hear a stranger's voice, that said; "George Michael will be round in a few minutes. He wants to see you. We'll be outside your house in 10 minutes."
Well, I almost fainted in my dream even, and began running round tidying the place up a bit before brushing my hair with shaking hands really quickly, and flying down the stairs to go and wait for my visitor outside.
While waiting for the car to arrive and my heart going nuts, I thought I'd run to the end of the road, just to make sure his driver didn't take a wrong turning. A fire engine flew past at speed, but I didn't even care for their uniforms at this point. After all, 'the little God' was coming to see me!
5 minutes came and went.....then a few more minutes.....no sign of him so far but there was still time - and I certainly wasn't going anywhere!
Finally it looked like the car was arriving. This was it! It was now or never! I smoothed down my clingy and flimsy black dress and stood there with this huge gawky grin on my face, and couldn't resist turning round to see if the neighbours were watching..... Horror!!! The fire engine that had gone past was right outside my house, with a fireman on the ladder putting out the flames in..... my bedroom was on fire, NOOOOOO!!!!
I woke up...and sulked...and remembered his interview words.
I knew then, he was gay...sniff! Least,
that was my excuse for deciding never to let him have me ;)
and I'm sticking to it!
