And They Honoured Each Other

And They Honoured Each Other.  This painting was born from a photograph I took at one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have ever had the honour to witness.  There is nothing I could say that would describe this painting in a more perfect way, than something written by Rachel Jayne, herself.  The below poem, is also where the title for this piece came from. :)

Three there were
Three of the Daughters
Three bound as One

The First of the Three
The Mother, The Queen
Guardian of Heart and Hearth
Bringer of Counsel
And she forged the union

Second of the three
The Hag, The Crone
Guardian of Knowledge
Bringer of Wisdom
And she sang the words.

Third of the Three
The Maiden, The Builder
Guardian of the Lands
Bringer of Laughter
And she held the chain.

And they honoured the Goddess
And they honoured the Land
And they honoured eath other.
